We have known Michelle since he ran the Au Tire-Bouchon' and then L'Antidote', both in Cherbourg, and since he has moved to Dielette, he has transformed an otherwise poor restaurant. He does the cooking himself, and his wife serves tables. The restaurant is along a...pleasant country lane leading away from the Dielette marina and it a pleasure to sit outside in the warm sun enjoying a glass of wine recommended by Michelle. His English is excellent, and he has a delightful sense of humour. I cannot recommend it too highly. It is always worth finishing off a superb meal with a glass of his cognac.
We've been here several times now and we have never been disappointed. Your host prides himself on producing perfect meals for his guests. Most of the food is cooked for you over an open wood fire. The quality of the food is first rate and...perfectly cooked. My gluten free meal was no problem' and it was so tasty. The weather was not very good so we ate inside instead of overlooking the country side, but it has a unique relaxed atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Worth a big detour to eat there again! Be sure to make a reservation as it is open eccentric hours.
Visited on a Saturday evening for the first time. The Restaurant was full with 2 large'ish tables yet all was calm as Michele, his wife son quietly set to work. There really is a delightful atmosphere about this restaurant where you can just sit...back let it happen. The food was excellent and there is a short but very good wine list to relax you even further. Delightful!
Food cooked on an open fire. Very good. Chef patron very helpful and friendly. Great food cooked in an unusual way. Good wine list. Don't go if you are in a rush, as you need some time, all food is cooked to order.
