Shame about this place. It has a very good location and great infrastructure (spacious balcony outside, lovely fireplace and layout inside). The food is decent to very good, certainly above average. But the service!! It's like going back to France in the 80s (yes, I am that old). They just don't give a merde. Rude, arrogant, unhelpful. One person's food arrived 10 minutes after everyone else's - indifferent shrug. Asked for an ice bucket for wine (baking hot day) - took three requests and 20 minutes and the general attitude was as if we'd asked them to invent perpetual motion. Tried to order crepes - literally impossible (the waitresses specialise in ignoring you; when cornered one actually s...

We stopped here last year so were looking forward to a return visit. Unfortunately this time we were not so impressed. On the plus side we got a table quickly despite not having made a reservation. We stopped just after 12, and the place got...very busy very quickly. We got our main courses quickly and the food was tasty, especially my Salade Italienne which I would highly recommend. However the staff seemed harassed and didn’t seem to be enough of them. Had to chase where the kids desserts were ... kids weren’t impressed with the crepes. We then had to chase the bill ... and it was wrong as they tried to over-charge for a drink that should have been included in the kids menu . In summary, g...

We arrived having eaten at a chalet in Moutiers the day before which was very good. Unfortunately start to finish terrible. We were asked to wait for a table inside, after 15 minutes we checked on our table only to be told you need to queue inside, no apology nothing. We then entered the restaurant not such a bad wait but the attitude and terrible customer service shocking. They make everyone feel as if they are doing you a massive service, rude arrogant and did not give a damn. To clarify my wife is French and I am British so no biased opinions. Eventually we were seated and wait for it ! plenty of tables at the back of the restaurant. Long wait to be served, average at best Food and in sum...

Lovely day, we booked a table on the terrace. The owner was really helpful and we arrived a bit early. He arranged for deckchairs and drinks whilst we waited. Food was really good-a platter of charcuterie and cheese to begin (not on the menu) and...various steaks, burgers for main courses. Magnum of rose and a couple of decent bottles of cotes de Rhône between 6. Not sure whether staff issues in other reviews have been addressed, but we had a great experience. Definitely go back and recommend you try it. Book a table now

Went for lunch and were eventually allowed to sit at a table, they kept people waiting ages despite having empty tables. The food eventually got ordered and when it arrived we had some cutlery but no spoons for the soup. 8 minutes later the spoons arrived by which time the soup was tepid. No bread or cheese ever arrived. The staff were rude, indifferent and any complaint or question was met with a Gallic shrug. Avoid this restaurant, there are many more much better ones in Val Thorens.

I had a very similar experience to the last reviewer: utter chaos, people left standing in line for more than an hour with zero communication from shirty, disinterested staff. Let's face it, all of the piste-adjacent restaurants here serve similar food at pretty similar levels of quality and price. What distinguishes one from the other is attitude, location, and service. On two out of three of these, Caribou was a big fail. Food itself was okay, nothing more.

We were a group of six and went to the restaurant for lunch on the 10 January. I simply can't understand the negative reviews of this restaurant, the food was excellent, service exemplary and the ambience was warm, as was the open fire. We have...been here many times over several years (never written a review of this place before) and this restaurant has always met these high standards.
