Visited cassis in the evening. Wanted somewhere near the water to eat but after browsing the cafes and restaurants on the marina we weren't impressed by the menus or the loud music in some of them that overwhelmed the atmosphere. Stopped at Le Cendrillon as it was out of the way but still on the front.I had salad Nicoise which was huge! With my minimal French they were very patient and allowed me to adapt the salad to my requirements. My husband had steak with Roquefort sauce and he said it tasted amazing. I tried some of his cheese sauce and it was very good. I couldn't eat all my salad because it was massive, but it was very fresh and tasty. When the bill came I was surprised at how reason...
Friendly staff showed us to our table and as it was still sunny in the evening didn't sit us right in the sunlight. We had our drinks order quickly and a bottle of water straight away. My wife had a salad but didn't want peppers she used her French that she knew and a few words she didn't know the waiter help her out which was very good. I speak no French other than Hello goodbye etc so I tried to tell him what I wanted but failed and he corrected me so helping me out again. Food came salad was massive and wife said it was lovely. I had the steak which was cooked amazing and the roquefort cheese sauce was beautiful. Chips were lovely and crisp. Great restaurant and friendly staff.
Well, the location is good and the waiter was polite to us even though we didn't speak French, but the food was very average (no real flavor to it) and the service was slow even by French standards, but we were not in a hurry so we waited .. and waited. We ate and waited for dessert - no desert - we waited, got the waiter's attention, but he didn't return. Again we got his attention, he acknowledged, but didn't return. So we just asked for the check. The check was wrong, but we left paid it anyway and left.
Tourist trap. Only had a wine here. Typical place that adds a couple of euro on because they are on the Marina, only problem 'you don't have a view of the marina'.! Young guy who took the order was rude and disinterested. He seemed to be friendlier to some of the locals. I mean why bother being pleasant and courteous to people you will probably never see again? Epecially if they don't speak fluent French! EVITER (AVIOD)!
