The first day in St Pierre de Chartreuse we walk to St Hughes for lunch at Le Chamechaude. It's an easy walk and it's an enjoyable lunch. A good value three course menu, featuring the dish of the day, a chilled beer and bottle of Cote du Rhone and you know all is right with the world! The food in winter is hearty mountain fare served inside in the dining room and bar. Summer sees lighter dishes which can be served outside where you can view the mountain that dominates the area and gives this restaurant its name.
