We happened upon this place as it was busy with locals stopping for a cafe or drink. We had a wine and beer. The tables were clean and the service prompt. Smoking is common as it is next to a tabac shop and well, it's France! One waiter spoke a little English and the other none. We did not notice anyone eating food, just drinks. Busy street with lots of action. Reasonable prices.Olives were served with our drinks.
Last night we ate here as we were a bit late and fancied steak. The service was fine, wine was good and both the ribeye and rump tasted delicious. They were more medium than medium rare as requested but they were so tasty we polished them off anyway! You get a mountain of chips and a small side salad (dressed green leaves) which hit the spot for us. It's a nice spot, near the markets with tables on the pavements.
We visited this place after having spent a whole day touring the chateau de versailles.We ordered a steak and 2 appetizers. The steak was too dry. The service was too slow. One of the appetizers ordered did not even make it to the table. The place looks old and does not very clean.Maybe it's a good place to grab a drink, but I would't recommend it for food!Positives: The Camembert plate was really good
Par hasard, le repas du midi. Surpris agréablement par une nourriture de bonne qualité De VRAIES frites, de la VRAIE salade, quant à la viande, tendre et goûteuse. Do not eat there !As a quick stop for a biere or a glass of wine the place is perfect as it is right in the middle of Versailles, with a nice terrasse which gets quite a lot of sun.However the staff are uninteressed, rather bored and unwelcoming.The food as nothing of the gourmet or sophisticated look of the place and is in my opinion overpriced.
Busy bar area but the area to 'manger' was quieter and away from the smokers. Window seating looking onto street always good for 'people watching'. Staff helpful and seemed to remember us from drinks the day before.My steak was cooked as requested and was a decent size.The foie gras au canard on salad across the table looked good.
If you're in the square, you're looking for a place to drink a drink, or to eat something, this place is perfect!I recommend the honey goat bruschetta! a real delight:)the prices are honest, the waiting time varies according to the world on the terrace!
We stopped by while we were looking at the markets. I had a burger and hubby has roast chicken, both served with fries. We had some beer and a coffee to finish. Food was tasty and hot, service was good too. Book a table now
I don't know what people expect, it's a decent bistro. Lamb shank, a rib eye and a decent bottle of wine for less than £50? Friendly waiter, good food, nice wine, a great way to pass an hour or so.
