Arrived in Hendaye mid day expecting a nice afternoon at the beach. It was mid August but unfortunately the weather was more like a November day in Ireland !! We spent some time searching online for a restaurant for the evening, and luckily, thanks partly to the Tripadvisor reviews we found the wittily named L 'Apostrophe. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant 's fabulous, reasonably priced menu and extensive wine list. The four of us agreed that the food was 'fine dining ' standard and quality. Presentation of the dishes was elegant, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. dinner of October a restaurant in the pleasant and clear room, with a friendly service and a menu-map to an excellent value for money. For my part, I chose: a salmon and gamba tartare with finely spicy accompaniment and spinach shoots for a little freshness a perfectly melting pig chessel, purée de patate douce and charcoal poached figs with panna cotta and some pieces of sandy. Everything is well thought out and simply cooked. and since the wines with glass are very affordable (around that the bread is fresh, that the coffee is good, this is a place that makes honor to the French restoration.
We had lunch here while waiting for a train. It was a good choice. We arrived shortly after they opened at 12, and were very quickly served. It seemed that many people had booked for 12:30pm for lunch, and when we left the restaurant was almost full. So if you don't have a reservation, it might be a good idea to arrive early. The food was great not a huge selection, we had the pork special. The service was fast and friendly, and the coffee was also good.

lunch at noon in the week in this little restaurant is a nice surprise. the young, friendly and dynamic team offers a formula of excellent value for money. Clear search for quality and presentation of original dishes are the strengths of this restaurant in the heart of the city.
Très bonne table à Hendaye. Les saveurs sont originales, beau dressage. Bonnes découvertes également du côté des vins. Personnel sympathique en plus, on reviendra très certainement lors de prochaines vacances.

Had a very enjoyable two course lunch with a couple of wines. Excellent food and great service. Menu in French was explained to me in English. €36. Highly recommended.
