We arrived on a Sunday, when most places are closed - but Corners was open. Just a short walk from the Basilica, it was recommended by our accommodation and our tour-guide. This cafe/bar offers a good range of drinks, and affordable, well-cooked food. Luckily the weather was fine during our stay, and we chose to eat outside beside the street, which can get a bit noisy with kids on motor-bikes, but not excessively so. The service is friendly, even when they are busy. When we tried to get a taxi home and none were available, the patron even gave us a lift in his own vehicle.

I was first here 6 years ago and it was packed then, the menu is still the same and it is still packed every night! The chap who runs it is a good laugh and the service is good. The portions are large, don't expect Michelin star but you will get reasonably basic very tasty food and lots of it at a very good price! The rump steak and chips with béarnaise sauce is well worth trying and don't be put off by the starter "herrings with tepid potatoes" it is delish! They cater for big parties upstairs as a big school group came in all dressed in fancy dress which was fun!

Stopped in for lunch under the shady awning. The owner - we assumed he was the owner- is a very jocular fellow. He spoke English well for us Aussies. He insisted we try the local beer Ch'ti which was very good.We had a cesear salad with chicken, & a dozen snails. I'm not a fan of snails, so I won't comment on them, but the sauce, garlicky with fresh herbs was delicious. My husband enjoyed them. The salad was good, I had the "petite" size & it was plenty for lunch. A carafe of rose` Great little spot, good food & entertaining host. Affordable.

Went to get a seat...most unfriendly...we left!!! The hostess did not try to accommodate us, even when the restaurant was far from full. we decided to leave rather than take a table stuck in the middle of traffic flow!
