Popped to a restaurant in San Sebastián for lunch but it was closed. A local recommended we go to Le Cottage. Didn’t know it but it was a 5 minute drive, so decided to try it. So glad we did. Stopped there asked if they allowed dogs, which they did, so we went in. A really lovely, eclectic decor, lots of bears! Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Ordered salad starters, which were huge, fresh and good. Main courses were steak and trout. Really fresh and extremely were cooked. Crème brûlée, ice cream and a Charlotte for desserts. All excellent and extremely good value. Will definitely be going back. A great find.
Atmosphere and setting is beautiful, amongst the teddy bears for company! Great food, all freshly prepared, but would keep for a special occassion as a little on the pricey side. However, they accommodated us as we arrived early, despite being fully booked.
This was my fourth visit to The Cottage. I go with my hosts, Chris and Susie that run our painting course. It is always a pleasure to return and I look forward to it. Not been disappointed yet. I love the food and the quirky decor.
This is a quirky little place where nothing is too much trouble. Food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. English and French spoken.
