My wife and I went to Lille especially to have dinner at the Le Fossile. I had been to the Le Fossile in Strasbourg a few years ago and wanted the experience again.The choice of dish was easy. Onglet aux echalots. It is served with fries, ratatouille and salad. The fries were not necessary but were good. The meat was delicious. Served very rare, Cut in small bits, it is so tender you hardly need to chew,To accompany I had the house red wine - choice was Bordeaux or Bourgogne. Went for the Bordeaux. It was not bad! But I've had better.Desert was crème brulee. Next time I will have the Armagnac.Service was efficient and friendly.I’m not scoring it a full five because of the wine, which at €19....
We found this restaurant on the recommendation of the front desk clerk at the Novotel around the corner. The small main floor dining room is complemented by a larger space on the lower level. The service was impeccable and the food...stunning. This is place to get perfectly prepared tender steaks. I started with the foie gras and followed it with a steak that was accompanied by frites and a salad - very generous.The restaurant also has the most amazing selection of Armagnac that I have ever seen, some are decades old. It is run by the grandson of the original owner and its name comes from his grandfather's love of fossils. Do not miss this place when visiting Lille!
We were looking for a nice small French restaurant that'd serve steak in the are of Lille where we were staying.Le Fossile had good reviews so we decided to check it out. The place itself is rather nice and the staff are friendly. However, our waiter came back to our table 3 times to check if the order he's taken was correct. Other than that the dinner was nice, but one of the steaks was a bit overcooked, which was a shame as its supposed to be a great place for it.Pudding was good though! But you can't go wrong with the chocolate!
If you want a steak dinner this is a good place to go. Delicious beef all cooked to our individual requirements ( we were 7), good chips and a nice variety of sauces: cognac, cream, parsley, garlic etc.The staff were pleasant and helpful and wine list was interesting. Limited number of starters but you go for the steak and the mushrooms starters were in fact superb.

Fantastic find just around the corner from our Novotel hotel.Tucked away in the corner it is a beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff.A must for meat lovers and it was so good I went back two nights running.Loved the creme brûlée too!Very well looked after by the staff and will be back.
A nice restaurant just south of the grand place. If your a meat lover; try the specialityL'Onglet à l'ÉchaloteA lovely meat dish with nice side dishes; good to sit with friends and collaegues and great value for money. A definate place to visit more than once.
Nice restaurant combining classic and modern style. They are specialized in meat. Do not expect a wide menu list... We took the recommendation (meat and onions) and it was really good. Also nice wines. Overall, good place to enjoy French meal.
Went there with a small group of clients and we had a very nice time! Nice service, great planche apéritive and delicious tournedos Rossini! Price range is average
