We were out for a drive and staying nearby when we decided to stop at this charming restaurant for dinner or lunch. The restaurant was busy and bustling with a constant crowd. However, we were a bit disappointed when our server took a long time to attend to us, seeming to prioritize other tables who arrived after us. Despite this, we enjoyed a glass of wine, onion soup, and croque monsieur, which were all delicious. Despite feeling somewhat invisible due to the service, we left the restaurant feeling happy. We would consider returning, perhaps being more assertive to ensure we receive proper attention next time. It's unfortunate to feel overlooked, but Le Gamin is still a fantastic establish...
I don't think I have ever experienced service quite so terrible from a supposedly high end restaurant. Our server was very clearly inexperienced and couldn't answer questions about the menu, the food took over an hour to come, and when it did, one of the orders was wrong, and another was missing altogether. The staff did not seem to feel any urgency about the missing meal it took another 40 minutes for that to arrive. The staff seemed to imply we were unreasonable for expecting all of the food we ordered to actually come (and we didn't order anything very complicated; mostly crepes. Do not recommend.
While I typically don't indulge in chocolate cookies, this one is a must-try. The chocolate is perfectly melted into a crispy cookie, making it the best one I've ever had.
Salad nicoise was delish, fresh and tasty with a good piece of tuna. Everyone else at table liked their meal. Service was good, and all food was cooked fresh.

We arrived in the late morning on a Monday. The food was served promptly and was delicious. We plan on visiting again next time we are in the area.
Excellent little French diner. You can't go wrong with a French onion soup. Or a croque madam. Lovely little spot. Do it.
