We went to Le Grand Cap to celebrate my mother's 50th birthday. The restaurant is on top of a cliff, but easy to find and has a great view of the sea. The room is quite small and not cramped nor noisy. The decoration is modern and soothing, with beautiful sea themed plates and tableware. The service was very friendly and efficient if a little bit slow. The waiters explained quickly each dish and gave more ample informations if prompted. The wine recommandations were very good as well.It was very pleasant to be able to pick whatever we wanted from the carte to be included in the menus we chose, rather than being only really interested in half of the dishes we were about to have. High above Leucate, overlooking the Mediterranean, in an architecturally distinctive building, Le Grand Cap makes a statement: we aspire to be a star restaurant. The service was attentive, skilled, and unobtrusive, though we on occasion had to ask a server to skeak louder for our non-native French speaker ears. (English is no barrier here, however.). We were pleasantly surprised when trying out this restaurant. Great location, great view and more important great food! The lunch menu, changing every day, was just perfect. You can state your food allergies or intolerances and they will adapt the menu for you. All dishes were excellent, creative and modern. From entree to dessert, a pure delight. Not to miss if you are around Leucate!
