We passed by thinking it was a fast food outlet, but it was then highly commended and we took advantage of its long hours to visit just before the popular after-work slot. Most seating is high stools and close together. One can imagine it as noisy and chaotic, but we had calm and attentive service. Around a dozen specialist stalls serve to eat in or take away, and again assembling a meal from these could be lengthy when busy- but fun! We concentrated on the deli and had an assortment of delights including some great crunchy prawns! The central bar serves local wines by glass or bottle at a good price. Gascony gourmet heaven!
On a rainy day in Dax, we happened along the Marché Friand and found a cozy spot next to a window where we enjoyed a lovely meal. Wine from the Tastet vineyard, goat cheese, bread, chorizo, and a baguette freshly out of the oven at the boulangerie. The Marché Friand achieves the perfect mixture of providing fresh, delicious food, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all day. Each stand specializes in a beverage or type of food, and you can pick and choose to make your perfect meal to enjoy at one of the tables or countertops. J'adore le concept!
Nice old style market pretty well refurbished on the inside. Good looking place and trendy stands. Prices might be a bit expensive. Athmosphere is nice and enjoyed a nice time in there. Full of space to sit down.
The appearance form the outside is deceptive. It looks like fast food but has seperate counters for fish, meat, tapas cheese, desserts and a bar. Very reasonable for the quality of food on offer.Nice atmosphere.
