Almost next door to the cinema complex in the centre of Angouleme we came after an early evening film looking for a simple meal. Well, it was simple - simply excellent! The huge grill fire was mesmerising with the chef constantly in attention, moving food about the grill stand and tending the fire itself. We just wanted a main course and chose the faux filet served with a blue cheese sauce, garlic oven baked potatoes and grilled tomatoes. It was stunning - just good food, well cooked. The flavour and quality of the steak was excellent and all for 10 euros! We had a couple of glasses of Bordeaux Lestage and a coffee with the whole bill coming to €26.50. I don't know how we've taken so long to...
I have to say I didn't expect that! If a boyfriend hadn't advised him I wouldn't have stopped before and yet she surprises!!! a very cheap little card (salmon tat at 5€, wine bottle at 10€, fake net at 10€...) and it was really great. meat is cooked with wood fire directly in front of the customer what is very user-friendly. the waitress is very welcoming and the service is fast. I'm going regularly to the city with my friends. This is by far the best value for money if you want to eat a good meat on angoulemia! ! moreover the team is very nice, the fireplace is very pleasant and the atmosphere is good franquette....it no longer masks that the wine map gets a bit and it will be really perfect.

We first came here in December 2015 and we couldn't pass by without stopping again! We both had the foix gras poele followed by faux filet. A truly exquisite meal and inexpensive. We will be back next year.
