Really, the only thing to recommend about this place is convenience and hours of operation, as it is part of a hotel. Outdoor seating is right on a busy roundabout and it can be very noisy. Inside, music that nobody asked for amounts to little more than noise. Having stayed in Montaigu for 3 weeks, and perhaps against our better judgement, we made several visits... summarized here. First the service. The head waiter/bartender was perfunctory in his duties at best often copping a smug attitude. As a former waiter myself, I don't expect to be fawned upon but a modicum of decorum is always welcome. The young women seemed more cut out for hospitality work and were fine. The food is sort of immaterial as the staff are generally just rude. There is no attention to the customers, they cannot even be bothered to look interested. I am surprised that the management has not done something about all of this before now.
I eat here ergularly at lunch time when I'm in town. The service is friendly, the seating both inside (and outside in summer) is agreeable and the fixed menu lunchtime food is excellent in terms of its price.
