I gather this restaurant has had some ups and downs since opening with several chefs passing through hence the mixed reviews, the current chef is establishing this restaurant at a higher level and I hope he stays for the restaurants sake. The good points first,...the ingredients were all of a very high standard, the cooking was also top notch, I have eaten in many Michelin starred restaurants and they have been no better, and the wine list is good value, the room is as good as they get with wonderful views down the River Lot and the tables are in no way cramped, and it is by current standards very good value. I am so glad that I didn't read the reviews before we booked here for Sunday lunch, we found it to be great. The service was really good, attentive without being intrusive, helpful and polite. The food was really good, and very good value. Two...courses were €19. There were four of us for lunch, two of us had the foie gras and asparagus starter, three of us had the beef steak main and one had the scallops, then two had dessert. The steak was with l mushroom sauce and chips and was delicious. The chocolate and chestnut dessert was lovely. Première visite. Merci aux différentes équipes. Lieu propice à la détente. Grand parking gratuite et belles chambres spacieuses. Les animaux sont acceptés mais il est dommage que les maîtres ne respectent pas toujours un minimum de respect des autres clients (ramassage des déchets canins). Points d'amélioration : vider les poubelles situées sur la parking et apporter plus de soin sur le nettoyage de l'espace détente. Le lieux présente des atouts à conforter.
Très bel situation pour cet hôtel. Dommage qu'il ait perdu un peu de sa superbe en passant dans le groupe Mercure. L'entretien des jardins et de la terrasse est à revoir. Pour un 4 étoiles, les chambres sont vieillissantes, il n'y a pas de produits à disposition dans la sdb autre que deux flacons douche /cheveux accrochés trop hauts pour les pmr. Petit déjeuner trop cher avec un manque évident de personnel.

the rooms were beautifully presented, but the entrance hall had a hauch of drains. great view from the restaurant, but only the breakfast standard continental price. spa needed a good clean and treatment rooms closed felt unloved. many hand towels.
a long journey was reached through the ambiente I needed at that time. the prospect is amazing and during the reception in the bar was a little surprising, the stay met the brand for us because of the environment! will be back
the restaurant really enjoyed it. good well presented eating and excellent service. what a beautiful surprise. we will return.
