"We had just done an energetic walk in Beynac and stopped here to explore. Stopped here for a nice cold beer and wine. Nice spot and people were eating or just drinking around us. Cost us €6.60 for a decent drink."

I spent €3 for parking until the following morning as I’d come back for the car the next day after hopefully having wine with our food. I got to the table and started perusing the menu just as the waiter appeared. He literally stood and watched me for around 15 seconds, running my finger up and down the menu, looking for something to eat (somewhat rushed as we were mindful they were closing at 7pm). We visited in September 2019 on a very hot day, so the area and restaurant was very busy but the Waiters cleared a table for us without any fuss and with a smile. The food was good the Cep Omelette and Salardaise Potatoes was beautiful, especially when washed down with 50cl of perfectly chilled Rose. La roque gageac is most definitely a real tourist trap but Le Palmier is good value providing good food and friendly, quick service. Having a quick look around at the other patrons everyone was smiling and having a good time.

At this place this morning...ordered 2 cappuccina...cost 4.50 euro which I knew before ordering..a bit steep but a tourist trap location...but they basically had no proper milk top ...almost no milk at all...indeed perhaps none...underlying coffee not too bad...but it was no cappuccino....Nice spot in great part of the world but need to up barrista skills several notches..

After a change of owner, we decided to stop in this charming gageac rock restaurant for a sunny lunch break. not disappointed at all, a smiling welcome, very good dishes and a pleasant moment passed just under the fort. I highly recommend this restaurant.
