Staying nearby we needed somewhere to eat Saturday as we had arrived late-ish. We were originally heading into Sancerre but stopped off here as we passed. How did we find it... gave us a filling meal that we both polished off. If you’re after something special, this isn’t for you... more a really good cafe than a restaurant but it was clear the food was prepared on site... I’d describe it as high-end homely... if you popped round a mates and someone offered you dinner while you were there and you were given this kind of food, you’d be well impressed. It was a happy place too; locals, a local celebration party in another room... made for a relaxing atmosphere.

The stuff was quite friendly and nice (although you need to know French or use gesture language). But the food was major disappointment. We tried many French restaurants included local ones and the food was always good. Here we had steaks that were hard to chew, fish with countless bones, very mediacore desserts. The side dishes were the same for every main course. Coffee was bad. Price range 18€ for 2 courses, 22€ for 3 courses.

The meal was steak which could not be chewed and was full of fatty gristle. The fried potato was burnt and only the carrots were edible. The owner did not want to collect our dishes and we waited another 40 minutes and about to give up and leave when the dessert was brought. There was no apology and total disinterest so we paid the not inconsiderable bill and left.I cannot possibly recommend this restaurant.

Ate here tonight. The service was good but the food was fantastic. I had the Brochette de Canard, and it was delicious. The desert was the tarts Citron with merengue and was also great. The entrée was the melon and smoked salmon served on a bed of course incredibly fresh lettuce and the three courses were only €22. Very reasonable given the quality of the food. You would be well advised to eat here
