Lorient is a city with plenty of restaurants and where inhabitants love good food. The special place is Le Poulpe . A popular and informal bistrot on the fishing port Main Street. It 's open only for lunch and closed on week-ends. The chef is a former deputy chef of L 'Arpège, the three-stars restaurant of Alain Passard, perhaps the best restaurant in France. Beautiful sea products cooked with a lot of style. And the price : fixed three courses menu for 14 euros, 2,60 for a glass of wine... A reservation is mandatory. One more thing : every Friday night, le Poulpe is open for a special 39€ scallop and lobster menu. I haven 't test yet, I betcha it 's worth the trip!

ypical outside approach. Sober and popular interior. Starter: shells with shifted acommagnement hand race: tasteless fish (mullet) and poorly matched accompaniment Dessert home made: pear on medium cake base. Smell of grease because cooking pseudo open. Wet carpet having caused the fall of my wife having caused a small sprain and hematoma of the hand. No attentive staff. Never again!

The service is friendly and the food is good fresh and tasty. Unfortunately we had to wait more than 60 minutes for the starter and main course. Due to the fact we visit the restaurant during lunchbreak, we will never go there again. Not enough service helpers for too many guests. In that area there are several Restaurants with faster service....

Wonderful small and typical restaurant not far from port attractions museum, submarine etc.. . Original menu with delicious local fish and octopus. Well prepared and nicely served. Service was excellent. All said a nice surprise in a nice neighbourhood and.. prices very reasonable, with a lunch menu at 19,10 euro.
