Le Pub Gambetta - Table reservation

Having lived near the restaurant for 31/2 years and never going in due to the poor reputation, we went in today for the first time. We had reason to complain about the food but the waiter covered in sweat stained shirt front and back yuk ! came out and had a complete strop, whereas they could of corrected the problem for under a euro. He created a scene with a "tough you will have to pay for it now attitude " he went on for a few mins when we said just "forget it" At the end of the meal my husband said can I just say your customer service is truly rude and appalling and I will be letting people know on the internet . I was really hungry this evening and couldn't find anyone to serve anything at 5:30 pm, typical for France. However, Rupert, the owner of Le Pub, didn't hesitate for a moment to help this famished girl out. We served my husband and me a delicious burger, fries, a vegetarian galette and a couple of small salads. The locals were fun to talk with and the cold beer rounded out a delightful evening. Good place to people-watch in a lovely square, over wine, beer or coffee. My wife's salad looked good, but my hamburger was a bit too greasy. Chips were okay. Hamburger, chips and a small salad came to 9.50euros. Service was good.

I only go here when the Cafe de Paris is full.You can get a good beer, and real ale which is brewed locally,It's really a English hangout and it's a bit clickly.

Accueil sympathique. Cuisine de produits frais. Des curry délicieux le samedi soir. L'assiette du pub de saison. Endroit hors du temps très agréable.
