I can not believe the reviews I saw here for this restaurant. It is easily the nicest chalet in Isola 2000 and the food is there to match it. It seems the negative reviews are mostly from 1 party who went there one evening. We had absolutely the opposite experience. We ate at Le Refuge every lunch from feb. 18 to feb. 23and everything delicious every lunch. We had between 2 to 12 people in our party every time. This was the only place we found with a great menu and by far the nicest scenery in Isola 2000. You must have the black angus steak, it is by far the best I have had in France. The cheesecake and the pain perdu are to die for!!The staff was very nice and helpful and we truly felt that...

Oh dear what a shame. The little bar has had a big, beautiful restaurant built behind it with a stunning terrace but just don't eat or drink. There is no toilet available!!! It's shut because they don't have enough water! What??? So how do the staff wash their hands & prep the food? We only found out after ordering an incredibly over-priced & terribly cooked meal, there were 8 of us & not one actually had a decent plate of food, yet our average cost per head was 50€!!!. Beyond awful. Drinks astronomically expensive & no tap water (surprise, surprise!). Waitress was hugely apologetic & lovely (only saving grace). The place is a complete rip off, we should have guessed as it was completely dea...

This is an up-market spot for lunch. Lunch is always quite expensive in ski resorts but 19 euros for a Caesar salad and 25 euros for lamb shank is quite pricey. However, the food was very good indeed and the setting was delightful.at one end of the restaurant is a large central island with stools all round it to sit on and in the middle of this is an open fire. For those of you who love wood smoke in a refined restaurant, this could not have been better. The owner was very welcoming - and very proud of his self built restaurant!Deux coups and a bottle of rose later, we were ready to ski again! Slowly - having had a great lunch. Many thanks and we'll see you next year.

The weather was awesome when we went here, but the food, ambience and friendly welcome lived up to the promise of crystal blue skies. The food was generous and delicious and the wine reasonably priced and very tasty. This is probably the best on piste restaurant in resort. The staff are really friendly and the view is breathtaking. Go early in your holiday as you will want to go back. I know I do!
