This hidden gem deep in the countryside, is a bit of a trek to find, but well worth the drive. No menu just what is offered for the day, but the food was delicious- each course. This is not fine dining but honest home cuisine by a man who truly understands food. We had a party of 7 ranging from 10 to 70 years old, and everyone wants to go again next year- or in our case next week, with the new visitors! Casual atmosphere on a picturesque terrace, this is a great place for all the family
We were here for a Father's Day lunch on the recommendation of my parents and were not disappointed. The service is attentive but very friendly. The wine is good and there's a nice selection of aperitifs too. The food is well-paced and portioned and cooked perfectly. The prawns were excellent and the steak simply sublime with a very well-balanced sauce to match. Desert was a well-executed trio that didn't overfill but rounded off the meal perfectly. Looking forward to a revisit asap.
We have just stayed for three autumnal days and nights at this delightful rural retreat in the lovely countryside around Nojals et Clotte. We were actually attending a family funeral .The owners were very hospitable and we enjoyed evening meals here on two occasions which as other reviewers have said were the 'meal of the day ': fresh ingredients cooked to perfection. It is out of the way but that is what makes Le Saint Cochon so attractive and special
We stayed for a few nights in le saint Cochon and had the luck to try the chef’s special at more than one occasion. In one word, excellent: the steak was top class and so was the sea eel. Our favourite was the foie gras with egg. Great wines. And all of this in a very comfortable setting with very sympathetic hosts. Book a table now
Fantastic place, beautifully situated. The owners/staff are very welcoming and laid back. The food is absolutely excellent and very affordable. We stayed for 5 nights, huge rooms with ensuites. We were in the area for a week’s holiday and ate here twice as we enjoyed it so much. A small but varied menu, that is excellent value for money with delicious dishes from the local area. A beautiful setting for a restaurant with outdoor seating amongst traditional architecture and countryside views.
If you live in the area or are visitng, this is a must-visit restaurant. Always great food, service and ambiance. Our organisation has been going to Le Saint Cochon for may years now and we have never been let down. Our latest experience was no exceptoion.
