This wasnt our original choice of venue but as a bit of hapless tourist around the town we thought we would give it a go given that it had some decent reviews. The venue itself is nothing to write home about and I would call it somewhat like a cafe rather than a restuarant with basic tables and chairs. However, to leave it at that would do it injustice as although its basic, it was more than adequate. The girl that worked there was most friendly and charming and although we spoke no french, and she spoke little English, she was great. Food was pretty non eventful but plentiful. could they say the difference between twelve different types of couscous? the owner of this restaurant will like to come to make them details clear. he is the waiter and owner and, without being intrusive, he will talk to them about the city, the food, the history of chateau, etcaetera. the restaurant serves North African food. the price between price and quality is very good. a profi is that they can enjoy their lunch at the same time that they enjoy the view of the chateau continuing the sedan. we were grateful to be at a place with ac. this is not common in France, even if they have blooming summers.

The unassuming décor hides top quality cuisine! This little family run restaurant, is just outside the walls of Le Château Fort.Don't bother looking at the menu; ask the proprietor what he would recommend as plate de jour. He will then present you with a dish made from locally sourced, seasonal produce, cooked in the traditional French style. Totally first rate! Team it with the regional craft beer selection and you are in for a treat. The bill is very reasonable, for a meal that at a more "up market" establishment would cost probably triple.
