We privatised the restaurant for a dinner with friends. Hugo suggested a menu using fresh local ingredients: white and green Asparagus, Veal fillet with root vegetables and Rhubarb and Strawberries for desert. A lovely amuse bouche to start with and an interesting selection of wines - interesting because they are not your average selection. Beautifully cooked and presented, it was a very enjoyable evening. He does the cooking himself with one helper in the kitchen, so there was a little time between courses, but given that we had plenty to talk about we didn't really notice. This is what I call proper food. Not tiny portions, but wholesome quantities where you can taste each of the ingredien...

"Chef only cooks what's fresh" says the advertising board..... great idea. Until you realise that no menu board appears until one hour before opening time, even on a Saturday night, so how on earth does he know what's fresh because I can virtually guarantee that if he hasn't bought it from a Saturday morning market, then it won't be fresh at all, so why isn't the menu board available form mid-morning? Couscous (from a packet presumably, and therefore not "fresh") features largely on the menu and to be honest if you show up there with any dietary requirements then you are wasting your time.Pretentious claptrap, in my humble opinion: they will go out of business by the end of the year.

Mid week booking, it fills pretty quickly and has a small number of tables. Service initially very good and the food overall was excellent. The price too. Where it lets itself down is the team are very stretched when the restaurant is full. We waited ages for dessert although earlier courses were very well timed. It's currently a victim of its own success and needs to sort out staffing and will then likely boom and be one of Souillac's better restaurants. Worth a try definitively, just don't be in a hurry!

The staff was very friendly, but also very slow. It took quite some time waiting for what we ordered. But I have to admit that I enjoyed this diner and I'm very positive about the quality and price. There are a few outdoor tables, but it's located near the road and it's pretty cold in the evening (I suggest a wall mounted heater), therefore I recommend a table inside this nice restaurant. My friend and I enjoyed the restaurant very much. Lovely decor and good service. The food was beautifully presented and tasty. My one recommendation would be to vary the meats on the menu. The beef used in the first course was the same as in the main course. There were no other meat choices.

A very fine restaurant where quality prevails at a reasonable price. 3-course dinner at lunchtime with 2-3 choices. Very well prepared, especiallly the vegetables. Good choice in wine. This was our 2nd time, the 3d time is sure to come! Friendly people.

Souillac has long needed another high-quality restaurant in its lovely Old Town, and this is it: a new venue overlooking the main square, intimate and so the staff is attentive, and the food, although the menu is limited, excellent.

Superb authentic food in a great setting. Small but interesting menu using only fresh and local produce, lovely selection of wines and really friendly staff. Don't miss it!
