we stopped here to find a shady spot after a walk rang the market. originally we had only one drink, but we saw how the food came into other tables and decided to eat here too. I was totally disappointed by the food. in the Provence during my stay, and this was a welcome surprise of the true French food of standards that I am used to in France! we had the menu for 22€, including wine and coffee and were not disappointed. one of our party had the risotto that she also enjoyed and another had the plat du jour that was a entenmaigret

Located just off the main square in the centre of town, the restaurant looks pretty unassuming from the outside. However the friendly service and excellent food on offer made our visit a really enjoyable one. My partner's request for vegetarian food was handled most helpfully...(not always the case in French restaurants! and we enjoyed the fact that locals and visitors mingled happily together. We sat outside on the patio area in the September sunshine but the cosy indoor area also looked very inviting. Would happily return.

After visiting the citadel in foncalquier, our group began searching for lunch. Wow..........in the vicinity of the main block we checked the daily specials in le station and the result was excellent. the whole special at 17€ included a very tasty salad, unlimited fresh. brot, lemon roasted chicken on a bed of pasta, chocolate maus (for dying,) caffe and wein. the best eating since we arrived in France a week ago. highly recommended.

Maybe it was me, but it could have been the chief of the day. my wife and I came to a sea of tables at the end of the lunch service, loaded with the remains of many lunches. apparently there is a big one. that follows for this restaurant, but I am so mystified why. I had one of the two plates du jour, a lamb stew with kartoffeln au gratin; completely tasteless. my wife had the gazpacho she liked. a tiramisu brightened my mood.
