I recently spent to weeks in Genille with my family. Although it is a quiet town, 10 minutes from Loches, the local bar Le V & P is absolutely fantastic!!! Valerie and Phillipe who run the Bar are extremely friendly and hospitable and go above and beyond to ensure a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all their clientele. We quickly learnt that the bar is closed on Saturday and Sunday which meant that we spent every minute possible from Monday-Friday enjoying the delights of Le V&P. I'd thoroughly recommend to anyway staying in the vicinity to pay them a visit. I'm sure you'll be delighted that you went.Adam
We spent a week in Genille as a base for our holiday, and visited this friendly bar on a few occasions. Valerie and Phillipe are warm, hospitable people who run a great little bar and restaurant. The lunch menu is very good value at 13euro for 3 courses (and cheese if you like!) they also do take away pizzas in the evening which we didn't try but looked very good. They stay open for drinks quite late during the week (for a French bar!) but are closed at weekends. They really are a great couple who work very hard. The locals who visit the bar were a friendly bunch as well :-)
We spent just the one night in Genille and the only place open was V&P, so the 6 of us went in not expecting very much. We were soon very pleasantly surprised: Valerie and Philippe are both cheerful, friendly and resourceful. Having arrived after the kitchen had closed, Phillipe nevertheless put together a delicious couscous dish, and even challenged us to a darts contest! Grandmother, teenagers and all had a great laugh, and at the last, Phillipe gave us his torch-pen so we could see our way home in the dark! Thanks for the best evening of our holiday!
Cuisine faite maison, bon rapport qualité prix Nous y avons mangé un midi en semaine. Le menu était quasi unique : 1 quiche sur un choix de 2, un plat unique, plateau de fromages, 1 dessert sur un choix de 2. Menu proposé à 16€50. Il s'agissait d'un menu ouvrier. Avec un pichet 1/4 l de vin, un café et un jus de fruit, addition à 41 € pour deux personnes. Accueil chaleureux, service rapide, cuisine réconfortante, de qualité. Une bonne adresse pour un repas simple et bon.

We had wanted to go to restaurant 'Agnes Sorel' which looked permanently shut and since we were quite hungry, we stopped off here. It was fairly late for lunch but we were received most warmly. The menu was 12 or 13 Euros - a fresh salady starter, followed by pork a la plancha, cheese board and dessert. The Chinon rosé went down a treat. A very reasonably priced lunch, served by a very friendly lady.

Regular customers. small restaurant perfect for a simple and effective stop. Like we like. Thank you. We will not hesitate to stop again if we go around.
Make an effort to get to know them...Whiled away 3 very nice evenings here .. Really friendly place. Great pizza. Great wine. Great people. Thanks for a great welcome !!
