"Went there for a family lunch (8 persons 1 baby) Very helpful and friendly staff in his restaurant. Food options are excellent as well as the prix fixe menus. Excellent quality and portions are just he right size. They were extremely cautious to any detail. The view from the patio is beautiful. Next to the castle. Highly recommended."

Decided to go here on spec when out visiting Riom, which is nearby. Had read some information about it, and was particularly taken with its location, overlooking the Michelin test track, so I was hopeful it would turn out well. It was midday, and lunch is important to the French, so we were lucky to get in. It filled up very quickly. Most people had booked, and you would probably need to book in advance to be certain of getting a table with a view out over the Limagne plain Since it was March, the log fire was burning and there were no tables available out on the terrace, and we didn't get a table with the view ! never mind, we'll have to go back ! . There is a good choice of both a la carte...

Located in the pleasant village of Chateaugay with stunning views Le Vigosche is somewhat of a mixed bag. The Patron is very friendly, attentive and professional my issues come with the cooking/presentation.On the face of it the different menus offer very good value for money considering the quality/noblesse of the ingredients.Having said that there was a certain clumsiness in the cooking, why serve toasted brioche with foie gras if it 's cold.Main course steaks were overcooked and served with a toast covered in pickled courgette and microherbs on the top, something we had seen on the previous course and really had no place on top of a warm fillet steak with a red wine sauce! In fairness the h...

My husband brought me here for my birthday dinner. While we weren`t able to have the amazing view that is shown in the pictures during the day time, we were still able to enjoy ourselves on a winter night. We had heard rave reviews about this restaurant and were excited to try it. All of the food was extremely well presented. My husband found his dishes (the fish soup and the stew) lacking in taste and quantity. I enjoyed both my entree and main dish although there was far too much pork and quite dry. I could not manage to eat all of it, and would have appreciated more sauce.

Had a business lunch at Le Vigosche recommended by local clients. Though the place looked like another village 'local ' restaurant I was very positively surprised by the food quality and the great service! A wide choice of dishes (local/traditional and some more 'fine ' courses . great choice of wine as good price (shame it was lunch!! . The 'Cafe gourmand ' was all I could eat after my meal of Fish soupe and roasted rabbit leg this dessert was huge and delicious! must go back!
