When you walk in you can see the sign of Gault Millau so you expect something out of the ordinary. We staid as guests in the hotel and used the formule half pension ... the food was a deception. It didn 't have the standard a G M restaurant should have, not at all. The wines were overpriced (by far) and the dishes were just ordinary things put on a plate without much effort. Don 't get me wrong: it 's still a decent place to eat but it doesn 't live up to the G M standard, at least not when you take the half pension option while staying in the hotel. But, that being said; the chef is superfriendly and it 's probably worth it when using the à la carte formule. Bon apétit.
As is often the case in Auvergne, quality welcome. We only had drinks there but the service is very friendly and we feel good in this establishment. If you come here for a zero coke, know that there is no zero in Auvergne but you will be able to taste excellent local products. In addition to my opinion, I must admit that Coke Zero managed to arrive in Bagnols. If you pass by, don't hesitate to open the door of this hotel bar restaurant because you will be very well received there.
I have been going to the Hôtel des Voyageurs for 25 years, and I have never been disappointed by the owner's cuisine! We dined on: duo of crab and lobster, house smoked trout, Cantal tuile black butt pig ham, chanterelle sauce, aligot and truffade Very old Cantal, Saint Nectaire, Tomme parsley from Laqueuille and Fourme d’Ambert apricot bourdaloue tart, gingham strawberry ice cream. This meal was washed down with a very good Saint Pourçain, in white then in red.
