"The Xurassco serves roasted meat or stockfish. The food was genuine but cooked without finesse, served the Portuguese way with french fries and rice. The portions are big, but the price is nearing that of a menu in a traidtional restaurant. Extremly unpleasant were the crude jokes of the French owner at the expense of his Portuguese wife who is doing the cooking."

We found this gem of a restaurant by chance. It was packed with locals at lunchtime and we needed to wait at the cafe down the street. When a table became available the owner, Benat Richefort, came to get us. The food was outstanding. There were four of us and we all ordered something different. Everything ordered was prepared on a grill and was absolutely delicious. I recommend the pork ribs which was nothing like I have had anywhere else. Benat and his wife, who works the kitchen, were wonderful hosts. Benat works the front of the house and is funny and charming, making all his guests feel like family. I even left with a bottle of their special marinade as gift from the Richeforts. If you...

We were surprised to find this style of food here. Basque? Maybe. French? Certainly but French Portuguese. Anyway, it worked and was very enjoyable! The steak kebabs were excellent but to be honest my pork ribs less so. The ribs tasted very good but I'm used to the meat falling away from the bone which they didn't. I was the only one of four of us, however, not to give this place a 5 but it is my review not theirs.Owner (Bernard?) very cheerful friendly person. The place is adorned with a local artists paintings - very amusing some of them (a caricature style)The restaurant is close to the hotel we stayed at (Le Trinquet) so quite convenient

Found this little place after exploring the village. Went to eat here based on the reviews and we were met by the very jovial host and seated immediately. Service good and restaurant busy. We chose the ribs and the chicken both of which arrived promptly and the plates were full. My only negative comment was the fries served on my plate which were overcooked and a bit grey. The restaurant itself isn't very large but is friendly and the art on the walls is amusing and worth a look. Overall good and prices average for this part of France.

Looking around Cambo for Sunday lunch, we came across this little gem of a restaurant, full of character and good humour. We had an excellent meal. Not high cuisine, this is a busy restaurant with a take-away trade and obviously a local's favourite, but the food was well-thought out and tasty. A little expensive, perhaps, but we were very happy with our experience.
