A young enthusiast just recently opened this charming family restaurant. It’s found just on top of several touristy restaurants in Bastia’s old harbour. L’Epica has everything to become on of Bastia’s hidden gems! The head chef (and owner’s mother cooks delicious fresh food. I had the sardines, prepared with a locally produced cottage cheese, accompanied with fine vegetables and potatoes. My partner enjoyed her ravioli with that same cottage cheese (Brousse very much. Everything was well balanced. The front of house was very polite and had excellent product knowledge. really amazing eating, very large portions and prices that are lower than expected. we had a derée and for approx. €25 per person, but they could spend more or less than that depending on the court. we had not even space for dessert and have stuffed us and very happy. will return.
After changing us 4€ for a bottle of still water, without giving us the option to order tap water, the owner overcharged us 21€ on a 90€ bill. The food was good but the service not so much..
A hidden gem. Family owned restaurant with a nice view over the port. Well cooked dishes. Recommended.
