I was not as impressed as other relatively recent reviewers. The staff was pleasant, but no one spoke English (actually not a problem for me). The decor was essentially non-existant. The cuisine was more ambitious than typical bistrot/restaurants of rural France with some hits (lamb in pastry shell) and some misses (dessert of strawberries and black olives in basilic cream- OK, I didn’t actually order this). It is very popular with the locals, so I may be in the minority here.
We ate well here when Les Aromates first opened. Our return visit this week was quite a different experience. Although the service was good and the restaurant air conditioned; for which we were very grateful; we were disappointed with the menu and found the food indifferent and overpriced. It may be a ‘canicule’ but at the height of the season here we hoped for better.
A stop by chance and one can say that chance gives excellent surprises. A warm welcome, a perfect and fast service. A simple cuisine with flavors and taste. Fresh products cooked.... A passion for the profession that feels, a real happiness moment Thanks we will come back
