I was invited to lunch at the Les Cedres with a local host. I honestly did not know what to expect from a renowned 2-Michelin star French restaurant, but my divine experience from start to finish made me understood why they deserved 2 stars. It is French cuisine at its finest! The moment I arrived, I was greeted by a lush and pretty manicured garden. It was still summer when I was there in September and it was pleasant to sit and wait in the garden till the host of Les Cedre came to usher us into the terrace for pre-meal drinks and snacks. We passed through a beautiful hallway which led us to the terrace, facing a beautiful garden. It felt like we were chilling in Claude Monet's garden - colo...

How did we get there? We were referred of course! Easy emailing in English, an acceptance/confirmation and a request for contact phone number (note to Australians travelling in France - Telstra is not hassle free when it comes to international roaming). So as we entered the compact manicured japonais gardens, we looked up to see that there was an Australian flag quietly mounted along with the french and another - we were being greeted. And the reception, hospitality and general good will did not stop. Drinks on the terrace to contemplate the menu selection? Oui, avec Krug champagne. We all decided on the lunch degustation which included lobster (lash out! when will you do this again). And so...

We came for diner as a group of people including a newborn. The staff was very friendly and attentive, asking if we had anything to warm for the baby without us even asking for it. They even put national flags at the entrance for...the guests that were coming from different countries (SWISS one for us). We ate by the terrace which is surrounded by a beautiful garden with many trees and fountains. The restaurant is very charming with tasteful Asian inspired decoration that. We went for a three course menu (starter, main and dessert) which actually came with pre-starters and pre-desserts. We recommend to take the duck as a starter and the lobster in services as the main. As you could expect fo...

Dinner here was a wonderful experience in every way. The fixed-price menus and the à la carte were most interesting and 'different', the portions were, unusually for a Michelin-starred restaurant, 'proper', and ALL the dishes, including the amazing amuse-bouches, bread and mignardises, were totally delicious. The timing was perfect, and the service friendly, yet absolutely professional. If I were to really nitpick, I would say that the thick piece of marinated salmon should really have had the little hard brown piece in the middle removed, the pigeon leg was a little tough, there was no music in the restaurant to give a little atmosphere and the apéritif waiter was a little robotic in his del... No question the food in this restaurant is top quality with few concessions to modernity. However, given their two-star Michelin rating, I was surprised by the service lapses. For instance, when we asked for a glass of champagne on arriving, we were told that it was on the "chariot", which would arrive soon. But by the time the "chariot" arrived (perhaps 10 minutes), we had rather lost our thirst for an aperitif. It was sometimes hard to get wine glasses refilled and it was not the kind of place where one could stand up and serve oneself. When the main courses arrived, we were asked questions like "who is having the lobster?" or "who is having the cod?" This was very surprising in a top qual...

When visiting Les Cedres I quickly understand this is not only food, this is a passion, this is proud, the Chef tells you a story from the kitchen thru the serving , takes you at a journey thru different dishes, starters, main, deserts and the small neutralizers between before under and after. Our story this day was about the “black truffle” the truffle was present, I think inn almost all dishes inn one or another way used with a perfect balance and perfection. Those people still searching for the perfect story must make a visit. All the ladies and the gentlemen at Les Cedres that make this happened, you can be proud! To my French colleagues, merci beaucoup.

a beautiful place in the heart of the great appellation of the northern Rhone Valley. a room and a beautiful garden, a service of the most brilliant and a superb wine list. you can savor a succulent sea spider, a sublime Barbet and octopus mullet,...the lobster in two ways is to be recommended, as well as the pigeon, the cheeses and desert are great. to do, unavoidable!

I went to Les Cedres invited by a client and I must say that this was probably the best restaurant I have been to. The interior, service, atmosphere and not forgetting the food was exquisite. A must to visit if your in the area. Book a table now

An holistic experience. (For all senses). Exceptional restaurant in every aspect. One of the best serving teams ever. High above michelin stars and "best of" lists.
