LES CHAMPS D'AVAUX

We had taken a friend to Nantes Atlantique Airport and wanted lunch (my wife and myself). This restaurant shares a site with the Kyriad hotel but is in a quite separate building. The decor is ultra modern, clean and tidy. Service was slow and haphazard. The chicken tagine we selected from the "menu du jour" was insipid, lacking spices and any decent flavour. I paid the bill at reception and tendered my debit card without checking the written bill. It was only when I thought the total was rather steep that I examined the printed bill closely and found I had been charged € 39 for a bottle of wine which I had not ordered (and certainly had not drunk)! Very nice reception and quick service. We had a pleasant dinner outside on a warm evening. We all chose classic dishes: compound salads, and I have a flank steak with delicious frits. The steak was tasty, not very delicate (but this is to be expected...with this cut). The wine list was a bit expensive. If you are looking for a pleasant place to meet for an informal dinner, this is perfect.

Possibly the best restaurant we have used in France. We had a 36€ menu which gave use entree, plat, fromages and dessert. It was good value for money and the food was excellent served with amuse bouche between courses. There was an extensive wine list and the food was served by people who were very knowledgable. Such a good experience. We hope to visit here again.

Stay here at the adjacent hotel. Very accommodating staff, like a children's menu (smaller portions of the main menu instead of standard chicken nuggets etc...., nice food and beautifully presented.

You can enjoy the traditional cuisine,well presented,plentifull quantity,from entrées to deserts,wide selection of whine where even the bottom prices are quite drinkable
