we had a nice seven curs tasting menu with paired weeps in this restaurant and very enjoyed the experience. the eating was largely based on fresh seasonal vegetables with a fusion of large aromes. the food preparation, taste and presentation were excellent. the wine...paarings were thoughtful and somewhat different than he was normal, but that's why we've appreciated the opportunity to try new selections. the employees were welcoming, funny and well versed about all food and wine. ambiance was charming and we highly recommend this restaurant. booking is required
Truly awful selection of paired wines; from Greece, Portugal, South Africa and one Sake. For discerning customers suggest you avoid this cheap and really not enjoyable option. It’s unfortunate because some of the food was great, but you could see some similar ingredients used...in different dishes. One was overpoweringly strong in mustard. I have been to many tasting menu (best Being Chez Muffy and Pierre Gagnaire) so maybe my expectations were high and this restaurant was certainly very disappointing.
the seven course cook creations were really extraordinary overall, especially if they want a cook to think first nicely. the drinks were also excellent and the service was very thorough. the semi-casual afterbarity setting worked well with eating and server style. it wasn't... romantic, it was charming. the only real negatiw was that the table next to us had the loudest unimaginable paragliding and the restaurant did nothing on its own faust attempt to make it more pleasant for other mozens.
we went back after a 3 year break and had again one of the best dinners we had in years (probably since the last time we were here.) they serve a 7-course tasting menu that was beautifully decorated and everyone was bite. a taste. if montreal restaurants should ever get michelin stars this place should be at the top of the list. we have eaten in various other top restaurants in montreal, but we always go back to ile flottante when we can. can not recommend this place very much.
