If ever you find yourself in St Maur des Fosses, a pretty Paris suburb on the banks of the river Marne, I recommend Les Petits Plats. Opposite the town hall in the centre of town, the resto is run by bustling women (not a man in sight; perhaps they're in the kitchen) serving that high standard of bistro dishes one finds all over France. A three course lunch menu at €14.50 featured pork chop and kale; it might sound banal, but meltingly soft chop and kale cooked with onions and bacon was great. The wine list is short and affordable except that I chose the special by the glass of the day wine, a St Estephe at €10 a glass; and had to have another; so the wine cost more than the lunch. Always a nice Menu du Jour, great combinations to choose from, and language is not a barrier. The hamburgers are great and we often shared this and the wine selection is good, the house red not bad either
The welcome is super nice with attentive staff. The kitchen is very good. We had a great time there.
