We have been eating here for 10 years - every time we visit Cherbourg. This is the first time I have been disappointed. It appeared that the chef had decided mashed potato was the next big culinary thing! I had brandade de cabillaude. Sounds impressive but it turns out to be a ramekin filled with mashed potato and very little else save some small bits of dry cod at the bottom. Plus lettuce leaves on the side. My wife did slightly better as the ratio of mash to fish and veg was lower on the dish she selected. The raspberry pavlova that followed was a sorry specimen...small, collapsing and with aerated cream that disappears faster than you can eat it. And everything served on those annoying sl...

Too bad it's so expensive (especially when you see what they throw in the trash in the evening, sell for less instead of throwing away this incredible amount of food, it's just shameful). The waitresses are so unpleasant that it doesn't make you want to come back. Too bad because the decoration is nice and it could be pleasant to relax there. Super disappointed even though I've been coming here from the beginning. I will avoid going there now Parking: Easy parking because parking is exclusive to the store. On the other hand, like everywhere, it's a little difficult to park during peak hours. Wheelchair accessibility: Large doors for an armchair to pass through and enough space in the bakery...
I have been here in 2015 and said I would not come back. Well I did and it was well worth while.Salade of poached eggs which tasted very nice, a little silly to serve it on a small slate plate which meant chasing the tasty perfectly cooked eggs all over the slate. Nice clean carafe of Sauvignon blanc followed by the popular tartelette sable fraises which many people were having.I settled for a tasty Bavette with echalote crème and salad and chips. All excellent. Three nice pieces of cheese including an orange coloured Mimoulet which was tasty. A nice cup of coffee to finish the meal.I shall call in again.
The restaurant looks great and is next door to the Hotel du Manoir, but....I was not very hungry and as I was the only person in the restaurant, I was cold. I did not fancy a formula meal, so I ordered just a flank steak with chips, half a bottle of Badoit, half a bottle of a Cote du Rhone and finished off with a cafe creme. The meat was tough and the bill came to €29.50!!To be fair, by the time I finished eating my supper, two other tables were occupied and the ambience improved markedly, but all in all a disappointing experience. Will I eat there again? Probably not! Book a table now
I visited here with a group of friends and we all had a lovely meal with great service. I had the Fish and chips with sauce Indienne - very crispy batter around a good chunk of salmon, with fries and a lovely curry style sauce. Very unusual and very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their various meals - no mashed potato in sight! The place was busy and was obviously popular with locals as well as visitors to the hotel next door. I would eat here again.
Straight off the seacat we decided to lunch here. We both had the 22 euro menu. Starters were OK but mains not so good. Spouse left most of hers but I tried to eat mine but the fish/ mashed potato/sauce combination was awfull. This was not nice.Pudding and cheese courses ok (should be in Normandy)I will not reurn unless desperate. With three dining rooms this place should be better. No wonder it was fairly empty

Overpriced, a baguette and cooking for 5.5 euros...I'm still looking for the golden Louis which must have been hidden in the bread or the cookie. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Book a table now
