Aux Trois Arcades is located near Calais, which we wanted for an early ferry. It is about 20km away and a few km from the highway, so there are no problems. In fact, it is a hotel with a restaurant and not a restaurant and it is called AUX Trois Arcades and not LES Trois Arcades!! Bourbourg has little to recommend: a beautiful church, a few pleasant bars, but it is 15 minutes drive from the ferry port of Dunkirk and has a pleasant, inconceivable place to stay in the three arcades hotel. The room where we stayed was quiet (in spite of street work outside the door), simply decorated, but with comfortable beds and a good shower and toilet room. Wi-Fi was fine and the restaurant on the ground floor was a reasonable place to dine, with mostly burgers and steaks on the menu, but a friendly ambience and good wine list. The hotel is a budget hotel, but better than average for the price class.

Came into this restaurant when it seemed to be the only one close by on a Monday evening. It is also a hotel (low cost). The food was quite simple pizza, steak and chips, salads, but it was OK. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Wine was good. There were a number of large families so definitely child-friendly and inexpensive children's menu available.
