The staff here are very friendly and accommodating - they found us a highchair and a table with room for a pushchair. There are lots of staff so you don't have to wait long if you need something. We have been here a few times, most recently in early July. We had the steak, the fondue and the tartiflette. The tartiflette was quite disappointing, the fondue ok and the steak very good. Considering the prices are slightly higher than other similar restaurants in the area, I would hope the food would be a bit better.
I've been to L'Etale every year for 8 years and I can honestly say that it's like two different restaurants depending on where you sit! The restaurant downstairs is our favourite - it's atmospheric, cavern like and cozy in the candlelight. When we sit upstairs, particularly in the outside conservatory areas, you feel like you could be anywhere and it's not as special. Start off with the onion soup which is the best in Morzine and a meal in itself - and the spaghetti carbonara is stunning
Admittedly we were a group of 25, so we were ushered downstairs to a lively room which was quite dark and smelled of gas from the retro gas lights on the tables. With kids on one table and adults another our teenagers were not given good service and struggled for drinks and attention. Overall the food was good and not too pricey but next time would look for somewhere better suited to a large mixed age group
We enjoyed 3 lovely lunches at " L'etale". Really good food with a great menu to choose from. There was also a very reasonable children's menu which was helpful. The staff were very friendly. The portions are huge so I would suggest not having a starter. You won't be disappointed.

Worst picanha ever; asked for medium-rare. It was undercooked at first and still cold in the middle. After being returned to the kitchen, it came back well done; and very very chewy as a result…
Another recommendation & only just getting opened back up for the summer season. We enjoyed tasty pizzas from the extensive menu; great choice of puddings too.
Nice alpine menu with meat, tartiflette, hot stone... I expected better overall, though some meals were very good such as the porc pluma and the entrecote.
Great restaurant for groups. Wide varied menu with traditional and “international” dishes. Slight confusion with the order. Great deserts.

The band was playing outside, the sun was still shining and the pizza good. Prices not bad- what more can you ask for.
