Best Ethiopian in DC. I write this having made the rounds. Fresh. Flavorful. Well seasoned. Plentiful. My advice: start with the broccoli avocado salad lentil samosas. Finish with the veggie sampler with a side of beef stew. Collard greens and mushrooms are the standout in my opinion. Great vibe. Good beer options. Super friendly staff. Have opinions; Will share
I was starving today and decided to have a late lunch at Letena ?s Eithiopian Restaurant in Columbia Heights it was absolutely delicious. I had the Kay Siga Wot (which is basically beef sautéed in a flavorful berbere sauce with side orders of tomato salad , and cabbage. Awesome lunch ,awesome music and ambiance and excellent service .
An absolutely delightful and delicious experience. Every item in the meat sampler we selected was absolutely incredible. The samosas were crispy and beyond flavorful. The iced tea was perfection. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. The wine selection was very reasonable. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
Great Ethiopian food, huge portions. Each dish was uniquely spiced so a table full of flavors. We had the vegetation sampler for 2 (3 of us eating) and we ended up taking home leftovers. Spiced shrimp and a lamb main course were delicious. Attentive service, great value, we’ll spread the word and will be back!! Book a table now
In a city with numerous great Ethipoian restaurants, Letena stands out. The food is fantastic and bursting with flavor, the proprietors are helpful and kind, and, in an era where $30 can buy you a snack-sized entree at some places, here you get a hearty meal for less. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
We wanted a restaurant where we could have great conversation over great food, and we certainly found it! Maybe the best Ethiopian food in DC, and the staff were thoughtful and gracious.
This was my first time trying Ethiopian food. Taste and presentation were great! Service was patient and friendly, but a little slow. Definitely worth a visit.
