L'Everest - Table reservation

Ok. It's Firminy so the choices are limited. This is second rated on tripadvisor (top rated was shut for dinner) so I gave it a go since I haven't eaten all day, which usually means anything is tasty. The chef came out and talked to me and recommended not to have seafood because this is too far from the sea to have good quality stuff and not their specialty. Fair enough.The foie gras was ordinary and the veal was tough and tasteless. I almost never add salt but this time I had to add salt to make the dish ok. Ok, I am not French but I have had some great, tasty and inexpensive French food in my travels. This is by far the worst for what you are paying.

The foie grass was common and the calf was hard and tasteless. I almost never add salt, but this time I had to add salt to fix the dish. Okay, I'm not French, but I had some great, delicious and inexpensive French cuisine in my travels. This is by far the worst for what you pay.

If it wasn't for Tripadvisor I would never have come to the place because the outdoor deco feels a bit old, but inside it is modern, very clean and with exactly the right amount of lighting. Food was excellent and every step of the way from service to presentation of the dishes that you can feel that the staff does everything to make you happy.

Good price and not pizza (seemingly Clermont-Ferrand's obsession) Friendly service and the food is pretty subdued by Indian standards - not spicey.
