First time we visited, we hit the water hoarding issue. We ordered 1 beer and 1 water. Beer and bottled water appeared, nothing said. As we looked over the menu, we noticed bottled water listed under the beverages section and thought, are they going to charge us for this bottle? We called over the waiter, who appeared to also be the manager, and asked. Yes, you will be charged for the water and no, we will not serve tap water. We let him know how inappropriate it is to not tell us this in advance. Markham Village was recommended for a place for dinner. The village is casual with several restaurants offering patio dining. I walked the street reviewing menus and offerings. I decided to try Liberty, which has limited offerings (burgers and wings). I ordered the Tuesday special burger and beer. The beer hit the spot. The burger and fries were tasty and worked as well. I ate on the patio with a couple other guests. Inside is small and a little cramped. Not inviting for eating, but OK for drinking.The waitress was talkative and helpful when I asked questions about the village.Prices are a little high, considering this is basic food, but the experience was enjoyable.
Should have known...empty resto at 1:00 PM Saturday. $50 for two burgers/fries (+ 3.95 for rings, in the $50), two draught. Burger ok at best, Liberty Sauce is a mystery, added nothing other than a funny taste which made me wonder about the meat. I haven't hurled so rule out the meat. Good hand cut fries...saw the bags of YukonGolds downstairs...but not really special. Buns were cold- at least toast them a bit. Since we only eat in Markham once every 25 years or so, we won't be back. Spare yourself the disappointment and go to Harvey's.

This is a small burger/ bar restaurant that serves up the biggest most wonderful burgers I have ever had. The ingredients they use are so tasty it cannot be described adequately! The chef should be proud of his work. These are not just burgers they are culinary treats! They have a good selection of wine but for my husband their milkshakes were to die for. Not a cheap place for a burger but it's the best burger you will ever have. They are also HUGE!!!!
Sat outside on the patio during the Markham Music Festival. Plastic cutlery and paper serving plates. Husband said burger was good; the salads were tired, small, and poorly presented. Dressing was in a plastic container and seemed to be only balsamic vinegar. Leaked through paper plate. Cider was good; lots of staff for the Festival but they were underused. Won't go back.
Have been twice now. First experience was bad but it was not long after they opened so I thought that they might improve over time. Came back with four people thinking we could grab a quick dinner but the wait was painful and in the end the food wasn't all that great. We all agreed we should have gone somewhere else.
The food is really great and the wings are huge and delicious. The main complaint, the waitress was almost overly friendly. She lingered longer than was necessary and told us more information than was required for the relationship. Service was otherwise fantastic and quick, though some items came cold

Decided to stop here for a bite to eat. Got the Artisian Burger omg YUM. Everyone was pleased with there burgers. Gonna have to come back n try the wings cause they look amazing.
Wait staff do more talking in clusters then waiting on customers Not a good experience at all. Good was ok but we waited for ever for it.
