If you find yourself anywhere near Llafranc during your summer holidays, looking for a good restaurant and something different you can 't miss out on this Restaurant/Hotel in Llafranc. There are 2 parts to the story, the food the experience. But first a bit of (hi)story: The place is a family owned business since 1958, a family proud of it 's gipsy origins and of the great impact they have had in the town. Currently the most famous family member around is Carles Rambo , a man with a smile for everyone, a man who make 's everyone smile. The food is still done following famility recipes, such as the Arròs Negre aka Black Rice , which has NO squid ink (unlike most of black paella 's) but rather...

One of several restaurants along the lovely Llafranc beachfront. We visited at a busy weekend. Disastrous dinner at Restaurant Llafranc – lovely views and good , albeit expensive, food but terrible service. Told we would have to wait 20 minutes while they cooked our fish; complained after 1 hour waiting with no fish. No checkback, no offer of deserts or coffee, staff running around too hastily. Really they were overbooked for a weekend evening, maybe it's better midweek if quieter, but no excuses for the apalling service. Better meal with same views at La Sirena along the beachfront; or Leon was great, if you don't mind not having a sea view

Called in for coffee and tostada con tomate with another couple. I have to say it's the worst we have ever had. 3 pieces of bread over toasted with a thin veneer of tomato paste each. The service was poor, coffee arrived 10 minutes before the tostada and a smile from the waitress would have been nice. Had to ask for serviettes. The view however was to die for.

We came for the sea urchins. These were fine, but what came afterwards was a disappointnent. Cod that was too salty and bland grilled fish. The dessert had that left too long in the fridge taste. But the worst was the manager who kept yelling at the servers in front of the customers! Definitely not a pleasant experience. Never again!
