What more can I say about this place? I visited twice during my four-day stay in Oban, and it was fantastic! The seafood platter for two is incredible—those were the sweetest prawns I've ever tasted, and the langoustines were heavenly. On my second visit, I even ordered them for myself because they were that good. The oysters were so fresh and sweet, and at such a great price that I had them twice! The scallops were massive! I also tried the crab sandwich, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. The staff were so lovely as well. I can't wait to come back this year!
I discovered a charming little seafood spot that serves delightful snacks. The lady at the front is incredibly friendly and prepares everything beautifully. The seafood is fresh and reasonably priced (considering we’re still in the UK). I recommend arriving early in the day to ensure you can try everything they have, as they tend to sell out quickly. One suggestion I have is to offer pints with the food, but that might be a licensing issue. Overall, a lovely experience!
One of the best seafood experiences I have ever had. The chap handing out delicious free mussels like confetti made me laugh and the mussels were delicious. We ordered the grand platter and some oysters, all the food was incredible but the highlights for me were the scallops, oysters and mussels. Really good atmosphere outside the place too with everyone chatting to each other and complimenting the food.
I’m so glad they reopened before my Obon visit! It was very busy when I went, but the prices for such high-quality seafood are excellent. I even got to sample some clams for free while I waited in line! I can't recommend this place enough. While you might have to wait a bit since they seem quite busy, I assure you, that wait is definitely worth it! Book a table now
if they ever get the chance to travel Scotland. visit oban and visit Scottish famous local seafood stall. I called the green iron. only near the railway station and ferry port. friendly owner. Let's try it before you buy it. cooks to order fresh. we visited all the way from sheffield.
Best place for freshest and reasonably priced seafood in the town. The oysters were huge and only £1.20 each for example. They were also handing out free samples of mussels cooked in white wine and garlic.
Essential visit when in Oban. Fresh local food at great prices, prepared by the lovely staff. Scallops in garlic butter were my favorite, and the mussels were delectable too.
