"We bumped into this restaurant on a rainy night, from the outside it looked promising. Alas, it seems like a place for habitué, so the treatment was quite rough, since we hadn 't booked (although half of the restaurant was empty. Luckily the food was amazing, fresh and cooked to perfection. Will go again, maybe trying to avoid the not so polite madame who escorted us to our table. Prices in line with the food quality, not with the service."

We were craving fish so we decided to give this place a chance. We showed up on a Friday night without a reservation. However, there were only a few tables of people of that point. We were seated then it took a while for them to take our drink order. The table next to us was shown the special menu before we were and we were there before them. It took awhile for the waiter to return for our order. Even though this was a recent visit I can't honestly remember what we ate. The selection is limited and once you start adding on the things you want the price really increases. I doubt we will visit again because of the service and only average meal.

We live nearby, therefore this place is our frequent choice for a night out either in a family setting or with friends. We kept coming back to this place because we have always been treated nicely by the personnel and the managers and the food is of a consistently high quality, and we often follow the suggestions of the staff on the day specials, which are usually good. The desert menu would benefit from some improvement, the options are too traditional and quite heavy... Although the price is on a high side, this is a casual and friendly place with great menu, definitely recommended.

Last saturday lunchtime, we decided to go back to L'Océan after a long break due to several disappointments. The welcome was smiley and friendly as well as the service. They must have changed of cook as the fish and products were cooked to perfection. Octopus was tender and fabulous and the gambas with chorizo mashed potatoes was delicious. They still have their famous big baba au rhum! We really had a good lunch in a nice atmosphere. We recommend and we'll go again as it's really nice to have a great fish and seafood place not far from home and not always in Paris :

It's one of those restaurants that's an institution in Le Vésinet, and is quite often pretty much full. We'd not been , but knew that it needed to be checked out. Nothing to complain about at all in terms of food; excellent crab starter, and beautiful sole meuniere. Also a very interesting fish choucroute. Waiters were very polite and efficient, and the wine (Pouilly Fumé was excellent. Of course, it's pricey. At 44€ for the sole menuiere you have to take cost into account..
