We were cycling the south black forest trail. For this night i decided to stay away forma village and chose this place. Note, in Germany you are never that far away from a road or village! At least it was country side and it is just 100m from the cycling path. Thus quite convenient.I always enjoy the family Gasthous in Germany and Austria. They are special and different from a hotel. The owners were very hospitable and attentive.Rooms are OK. Nothing luxurious but bright and spacious.We had dinner on the terrace. We turned up at short notice after booking on the Internet only 20 minutes before. A lovely blonde girl whose name I never actually managed to get greeted us and showed us to our room. The room was very clean with ensuite which was quite modern with a decent shower (we stayed in room 1)We had a meal in the evening and the food was great. I had the breaded pork stuffed with cheese and garlic and couldn't fault it. In the morning we were served breakfast which was also rather good. We were only here one night as we were passing through but I would definitely stay here again and so would recommend to anyone wanting a nice room with great food.

So pleased we found this little gem on TA. Great food, cooked with passion for great and simple ingredients. Staff were really friendly, although we speak German so didn't ask if they knew English. Reasonable prices for great food in a nice location. A little off the beaten track, but ideal for walkers, cyclists or those with navigation in the car. Well worth the trip!

Go to Loeffelschmiede for authentic local Black Forest foods such as trout. Freshly prepared dishes with seasonal touch (like asparagus in April/May). Nothing sophisticated, but great local dishes with good taste. Excellent value for money. Big deserts go for the Chocolate Fondant. Attention and super friendly... Service by members of the Helmle family. Go!
I have been going to this restaurant on several occasions. The service is friendly, the food is very good and the prices are very reasonable. Children are welcomed with colourings, and a playground outside which is nice in the warmer days.

The menu is perfect and the service is brilliant it cannot be faulted although pricey it shows in the quality and presentation of the food. In Autumn the game menu is exceptional I can highly recommend it.
