When Chef Carlos is in the kitchen, you can expect delicious soul food at this restaurant. Their Sunday Dinners are full of flavor, offering dishes like catfish, smothered chicken and steak with gravy, corn, potato salad, cornbread, and biscuits. I recommend visiting on a Sunday, but they also have a wide variety of breakfast options every day. One of our favorites is the Reggie Jackson special with smothered pork chops and homemade gravy that really hits the spot. In addition to the amazing food, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy with a rich family history. Owned by a family, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals.

Okay.... if you are looking for a delicious breakfast spot in Oakland, this is the place to go. The fried chicken and waffle plate was amazing. I also recommend adding the fried pork chops, or as they say, "poke chops," with hot sauce - it's heavenly. The portions are generous and the flavors are unbeatable. I tried both the chicken and pork chops plates and didn't have any leftovers. And don't forget to try the salmon croquettes - they are a must-have. While it may not be the cheapest option, it is definitely worth it. A visit to Lois is a must if you are in Oakland, it's like the waffle house of Georgia. You can't visit Oakland without stopping by Lois, it would be a mistake.
Lois the Pie Queen is one of those spots that just feels like Oakland. The food is always on point—every single thing I’ve tried has been fire. It’s one of my go-to places, and any time I have people visiting from out of town, I make sure they eat here at least once. Lately I’ve been on a low-sodium diet, and when I asked if they could make some adjustments, they didn’t just say yesthey actually made it taste good. That meant a lot. It’s rare to find a place that doesn’t just feed you but really looks out for you too. This spot is the real deal. Good people. Great food. Always worth it. The food and atmosphere at Lois the Pie Queen restaurant are the perfect pairing. I had the best omelet of my life spinach and cheese and still can't believe it. This chef beat out my 40 year omelet fav, Camellia Grill in New Orleans. Amazing! The atmosphere makes it a contender for Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, for real! Service was slower than necessary. Other than that, it was worth the stop. Whenever we might be back in Oakland, we'll go back. Book a table now
Bad coffee and peach cobbler was the worst I've ever had. The place looks nothing like the pictures. Super run down. Old can be charming. This isn't charming it's just broken. The French toast with fruit was good. Friendly staff. I think this is the first time in my entire life that I didn't finish peach cobbler. I had a great time at the restaurant. The food was tasty and the place wasn't too crowded. I ordered scrambled eggs, fried chicken, and hash browns, while my husband had pork chops, scrambled eggs with cheese, and a pecan waffle. I didn't see a parking lot, but there was street parking available. The restaurant doesn't have stairs, so it would be wheelchair accessible.
The waitress was rude and always on the phone,. The pork chops, coffee and hash browns were horrible. I would've gave it a thumbs up , But the cook had attitude too! I really thought my Aunt and I wou. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
Great food. Nice and pleasant staff. I'm glad this place survived the pandemic. My wife was pleased with the fried chicken and waffles, I got the Reggie Jackson. Simple comfort food done right. Book a table now
