I’m from Ohio here on business and I say regretfully solely because of this restaurant!!! Never tried it before and if I lived on Long Island I’d be here at the minimum once a week! The whiting is the best! Red beans and rice amazing and oh lord the Mac and cheese tops my gma’s Mac n cheese back home and that’s saying a lot!?I get back this way staying overnight again I’ll definitely be ordering again! The taste of mac and cheese is awful. Collard greens are extremely wet and salty. Salmon has an awful taste. The potato salad was not too bad. The taste of rice and peas was peculiar. I hardly finished the turkey wings, which was the only enjoyable item from this restaurant. This was my first and final time eating here, but perhaps the chef that day was having a rough day.
My first time I went here was about 2 years ago and I've been hooked since. Sometimes they **** me off but 99 percent of the time they do the right thing. Today I was craving turkey wings bad and LONG ISLAND SOUL FOOD GAVE ME JUST THAT. listenend to order notes and service was fast and neat. Kid-friendliness: Family atmosphere
The food reminded me of back home at my grandmother's table. I told the cook that he really put his foot in it. If your from the south you get what I'm saying and understand the compliment. If you happen to be in Long Island New York this spot is a must. Book a table now
