for decades my wife and I lived in the northeast and visited Blanchland, which went into lunch, was definitiw nostalgie. we found all the changes for the better (e.g. heating that was no longer ineffective or too hot). we only needed a light lunch so we could get for ham hock chicken terrine and a beef with horseradish sandwich. the former (obvily home made) was a good part with excellent toast and chutney, while the sandwich had several layers of bark (which was done as much as desired). eating was washed with glasses of merlot and shiraz both good quality. it may not be the cheapest of lunchtime, but the bar was comfortable, the service was good and the quality of lunch meant no complainin...

now, our first time at the crewe and we will definitely be back, the decoration is spot on and well thought out with great touches to improve the amazing building the whole place is impeccable (no really impeccable) the staff are friendly and helpful. the breakfast was nice, the coffee and the apple juice were quality of the old northumberland fritte was delicious and considerable. our room was the beautiful tom forster with amazing character windows and the touches that they expect from a first-class facility, in the room coffee not immediately with additional large small piece tablet as sweet tasty. all in all a jewel in northumberland

we just returned from our second visit to the lca. we just find it excellent in every sight. we were overwhelmed again, through the facility, the reappointment of the room, the eating and above all, the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. all waiter, bar staff and peter the porter have all a few friendly words to exchange, it is a joy to stay there. eating was before place and we have enjoyed especially our wine tasting experience with helen savage, informative but very informatiw and very interesting, all served beautifully in the hotel gatehouse on the street. what a wonderful weekend we had.
