We arrived here to celebrate my daughter's 22nd birthday. All the tables were outside in the garden and set well apart for Covid reasons. It was a truly lovely setting but the sun did roast us from time to time as it moved across the sky despite the sunshades on each table. Was approx 32°c) It was a set menu with some choice on each course. There was a selection of delicately tasting mis-en-bouche to start with , then I had a lobster salad which has lots of interesting things in it. We had visited here 14 years ago and had a superb meal so we thought it would be a good place to celebrate Laura 's 60th birthday. In the meantime the restaurant has been refurnished and it is beautifully done with a warm country house feel. The welcome is equally warm and the staff are very attentive but not too fussy. We decided to go for the Menu Plaisir which has 8 courses and Laura chose an excellent wine to accompany the gourmet extravaganza which followed. I am not going to go into details of all the dishes , suffice to say that all were a delight to the eye and the mouth. The warmest of welcomes, gorgeous kitchen garden from which huge varieties I'd delicacies find their way to the table, and beautiful grounds, plus outstanding knowledgeable service and stunning food. What's not to love. Amuses Bouche are modern, refined and elegant, often with a surprising twist. Foie gras two ways difficult to resist when of the finest quality. Fish, cheese and dessert all fabulous. Do not hesitate, if you love really good food and the warmest of ambiance, book.
Amazing restaurant, wonderful ambiance, friendly , helpful professional staff and the most delicious food in a beautiful setting. We ate in the magical garden. I could not recommend highly enough, the most wonderful experience from start to finish
