I ordered two 7.2 Chimichangas along with a side of 6.1 Mexican Rice and 6.2 Refried Beans. I was pleasantly surprised that the cheese sauce was served on the side in a cup, which kept the food from getting soggy. The chimichangas were quite simple, without lettuce or guacamole, but everything was tasty and really hit the spot. They also provided complimentary chips and salsa, which I’ve never received for free when ordering from a Mexican restaurant before.
The chips and salsa were great and my lunch wasn't bad...but, not as advertised on the menu. I had Shrimp and Rice lunch special. There were only 7 shrimp, for $14. Which was ok, I guess...but no cheese sauce. When I get the bill, the lunch special was $14.50...once again, kot a big deal...just not as advertised.
Compared to other Mexican places I've been to, the flavor is mild on everything here. I think it has to do with being so close to the Villages and the older crowd. The servers are always friendly and the food is consistent. They have Margheritas, but it's a bottled sweet and sour mix base.
Taco salad was bland. Service was timely, but not the least bit friendly. I'll try another time and hopefully prior visit was simply an off day. Location is superb for us Hawthorne residents!Parking: Parking was readily available. Great location. Book a table now
I never received my Chimichanga order on June 9th. The beans were rather bland. I was looking for a dependable go-to spot, but unfortunately, this isn't it.
I was a bit surprised that the Enchiladas Rojas were prepared with flour tortillas instead of corn. Other than that, everything else was very good.
The food was fantastic! I ordered the fajita trio and was pleasantly surprised by the seasoning of the chicken, beef, and shrimp.
