Honestly disappointed by this establishment. I have gone twice now and my experience was less than good both times. The prices are fair, the beer selection is decent and the food is average. For a place that specializes in burgers I would expect theburgers to be much better. My first visit was with coworkers after work. One of my coworkers won 3 gift cards to use from atrivia night at Luxe, they only let us use 2 even though my coworker only had about 2 weeks to use them. My second visit was onmy own. Room for Improvement 4 sure. So, three of us made our way down to Providence for a burger and BBQ crawl. My main objective was to hit a place called Harry's Bar burger. The other stops were mainly to indulge the rest of the Away Team. Not wanting to eat what I hoped to be the best, first, we hit Luxe as soon as we arrived. Just OK .... Having reviewed the menu online there was suspicion that the emphasis on additional toppings in both the build-your-own burger and specialty burger sections might suggest that the burgers themselves might not stand up on their own. This was mostly borne out by the actual burgers which were fine if unspectacular and lacking seasoning. The toppings we did get horseradish mayo and garlic aioli were quite good. As a more upscale option to Five Guys and similar burger options, an upgrade to the furniture--particularly the torn upholstery on the banquettes--is necessary. Service was good.
For our family of four adult kids, the food was terrific: great choices, everyone was happy. While our entrees came out quickly, the server was then absolutely MIA. Asked three times for water refills, then sat and sat and sat when we finished our burgers and wanted to order dessert. It took minutes until our plates were cleared checked my watch, not exaggerating and there was a line out the door! I would think the restaurant would want to turn over the table but clearly that was not the case. It seemed to be our server only as the tables next to us were in and out while we sat

1-2 hour wait,. We were told they had a long wait and that we needed reservations. Half the tables were empty. So just for kicks I called later and asked to make a reservation for 10. The brilliant hostess told me they only take reservations after 8:45. Hum, we were there at 7:00. So I asked when they could seat us. She said 8:45. Well service there is terrible and burgers are ok. Cheese is not melted properly and sides are small. Go to Stanley burger if you are looking for a good burger at half the cost.
Service can be hit or miss. Our waitress never finished checking me in on Open Table, so after 2 days, I ended up going back to ask what the issue was...someone finally finished my check-in...after giving me a hard time. The servers don't know the WiFi password...so that is also not very good customer service. Their Fajita Steak salad though, is always wonderful and delicious...
Incredible beer selection and delicious food. You can make your own burger or order off a menu, but both will result in incredible food. My only complaint is that the burger I ordered was so tall it was hard to eat- but so tasty it was worth theextra effort.
The food was delicious as usual, but the service was just okay. It seemed like our server took all of the tables at once. We only saw him when he took our order and when we paid the bill. We had to ask for refills on our drinks, as he never checked on us.

Great food, excellent casual service. There is something hypnotic about the bar here. It is one if my favorite places down city, but I've managed to over indulge on more than one occasion. The Kobe beef burger is heaven on a bun. Long live Luxe!
